Dewsbury Rams boss Warren Jowitt says he is “pleased” for Jordan Tansey following the former Leeds Rhinos player’s return to Engage Super League with Crusaders, writes Peter Smith.

Tansey joined Rams a month ago today after being sacked by Hull for disciplinary reasons.

He played four games for Dewsbury, but had a clause in his contract allowing him to leave if a Super League club came in for him.

“He has done a job for me, but I knew he wanted to get back into Super League,” said Jowitt.

“Crusaders came in on Wednesday and he rang me to let me know that he was going to take their offer.

“He would be a fool not to. He is a talented player.

“I am pleased for him. He is a decent kid, he has had a bit of bad press, but his attitude while he has been with me has been 100 per cent.”

Tom Wandless is likely to take over from Tansey in the halves at home to Toulouse tomorrow and Jowitt is also set to give an opportunity to ex-Wakefield forward Kyle Bibb and former Bradford Bulls academy back Nicky Saxton.
