MARKSMAN Dominic Brambani has been hailed by Dewsbury Rams coach Warren Jowitt, writes PETER SMITH.

Brambani, pictured, kicked six goals from as many attempts as Rams beat Barrow Raiders 16-12 to book a place in the Northern Rail Cup quarter-final draw.

“His goals were crucial to us,” said Jowitt. “I said to him before the game, any chance we get we will take two points, no matter what.

“Dominic did that and it proved vital. His kicking game won the match for us in the end.”

Of the win, Jowitt said: “I was pleased for the players, but we could have done better in certain areas.

“There were things we didn’t do well and we’ll need to fix for the next game.”

Rams came through with no major fitness worries and long-term casualty Pat Walker is the only name on the injury list.

“I am really pleased with that,” Jowitt said. “This time last year I had three injuries to key players, but at the moment we aren’t too badly off.”
