The Kingstone Press Championship outfit are reeling from the news Brad Foster – a former Castleford Tigers academy forward signed from Doncaster in the closed-season – could be sidelined for the rest of the year.

He made his debut in the 48-6 home loss to Hull KR two days ago after recovering from a shoulder injury and coach Glenn Morrison said: “It has gone again.

“He will be booked in to see the surgeon, but that’s probably him gone for the season.”

Rams had already had to reshuffle before the game when Mitch Stringer’s car broke down and he was forced to pull out.

“”We had to change the team around before warm-up,” said Morrison, whose team have lost their five games so far.

“It’s one of those things out of our control. Everything that can go wrong is going wrong at the moment.”

Rams are at home to League One side Newcastle Thunder in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup on Friday.

With no loan or dual-registered players available, Morrison admitted: “We know it is going to be a tough game, but the biggest thing is going to be getting 17 players on the pitch.”
