However, the final scoreline was harsh on Dewsbury, who only trailed by two points at half-time. The game changed three minutes into the second half as a Dewsbury kick to the right appeared to be knocked down by Omari Caro.

Super League referee James Child waved play on and the Bulls winger was allowed to gather and race the length of the field to score and convert. Dewsbury launched another attack shortly after but a pass went to ground and Caro scooped it up to race over for another long-range try which the winger again improved. Bradford opened the Rams’ defence again and Alex Mellor was on the end of a passing move to score Bradford’s third try in eight second-half minutes. Caro added a third goal to put his side 32-12 ahead.

Dewsbury’s understrength side tired in the final quarter as Bradford scored a further four tries in the space of 12 minutes. The Rams had led inside 90 seconds when Dalton Grant dived in at the left corner, with Paul Sykes converting.
