EAST LEEDS are up to third in the National Conference Premier Division after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat against Hull Dockers.
The visitors went 38-34 ahead with three minutes left, but on the final play of the game Tom Sheldrake cross-kicked for Dean Langton to score his second try, levelling the scores and Nathan Conroy’s sixth goal, from the touchline, sealed a dramatic 40-38 win.
Luke Petman was outstanding for Easts, whose other try-scorers were Ryan Gaunt (2), Dave Nurse, Dec Tomlinson and Luke Tomlinson.
Under-strength Oulton Warriors put up a brave show in a 28-20 defeat at Wigan St Patrick’s. Joe Hawley, Dom Flanagan, Nathan Batty and Craig Savage crossed and Danny Stanley kicked two goals.
Hunslet Warriors are on a four-match unbeaten run after Craig Hickinson’s try and Gary McClelland’s fifth goal, five minutes from time, snatched a dramatic 24-19 win over then-leaders Ince Rose Division One.
Dave Norton, Chris Hardwick and man-of-the-match Liam Gale were Warriors’ other try scorers.
Josh Parle and Ryan Oxtoby led the points scoring for Milford Marlins in a 36-6 home win over Saddleworth Rangers. Parle scored a hat-trick of tries, Oxtoby grabbed a try and six goals and Josh Nathaniel also touched down.
Leaders Hunslet Club Parkside extended their 100 per cent record in Division Three to eight games with a 36-4 victory over Woolston.
Andy Hullock scored a brace of tries and two goals, Omar Alrawi also crossed twice and other touchdowns went to Danny Harrison and Jamie Bradley, with Jamie Fields the man on hand to contribute four goals.
