Community RL: Coach fails to stop reverse to derby rivals

COACH JAMIE Benn threw himself into the action for Hunslet Warriors, but could not prevent a seventh successive defeat, 20-16 to visitors Milford Marlins.

Leeds Rhinos physio Andy Barker played the full game for Milford, scoring a try, before dashing to Wakefield for Saturday’s Super League derby. James Barker, Chris Bowler and Steve Bacon also crossed and Elliot Watmough kicked two goals. Daryl Gaunt scored a try and two goals for Hunslet, James Dawson and Dave Norton touched down, and man of the match was Elliot Miller.

A try and four goals by Jamie Fields helped Hunslet Club Parkside to a 30-16 win at Ince Rose Bridge. Ben Shulver bagged a brace and other try scorers were Andy Hullock and George Clarke, with Rocky Price adding a conversion.

Division Two leaders East Leeds won 22-20 at Millom after travelling with only 13 players and having two – Jordan Normington and try scorer James Forsell – sin-binned. Other try scorers were Tim Norfolk, Lee Fisher and Rhys Kilbride and James Thompson kicked three goals.

Second-placed Oulton Raiders hammered Bradford Dudley Hill 30-6 with tries by Andy Williamson (2), Jordan Blagg, Josh Lancaster, Harry Kendall and Dom Flanagan. Tom Egan kicked two goals and Flanagan added one.

George Stott and George Woodcock both crossed twice in Thornhill Trojans’ 32-6 win at Crosfields. Liam Morley and Joss Ratcliffe also crossed and and Danny Ratcliffe landed four goals. Try scorers in Stanningley’s 27-12 Division Three win at Dewsbury Celtic were Jack Brier, Ben Ward, Sean Cooper, Jamaine Ruan and Jack Smith.

Logan Pitts kicked a goal and drop goal and Ben Selby landed two conversions.
