Victory for the French side ensured a third-place finish on the Championship ladder, pitching them against Toronto Wolfpack (top of the table), London Broncos (in second) and Halifax (fourth) in the Middle-8s alongside the bottom four teams in Super League – Leeds Rhinos, Hull KR, Salford Red Devils and Widnes Vikings.

Dewsbury, meanwhile, can take some heart from their performance as they trailed one of the stand-out performers in the competition only 14-12 at half-time.

In League One, seventh-placed Hunslet scored 18 unanswered second-half points to see off hosts Keighley Cougars – in eighth – 24-16.

Cougars had led 16-6 up to half-time, but Hunslet showed tremendous self-belief to turn the game on its head and ‘nil’ Keighley after the break.

Full-back Jimmy Watson, Liam Mackay, Mufaro Mvududu and Michael Haley all crossed the whitewash for Hunslet, with stand-off Joe Sanderson kicking four conversions. Hunslet ended the regular season before the split with 24 points – the same as fifth-placed Oldham and Doncaster, in sixth.
