Championship: Morrison confident Rams can get back in the winning habit

COACH GLENN Morrison is confident Dewsbury Rams can avoid relegation, but admits they need to start winning again sooner rather than later.

Rams, who play host to Swinton Lions tomorrow (3pm), have lost their last four matches and are ninth in the Kingstone Press Championship, just three points above the drop zone.

Swinton are one place and a single point better off and Morrison said: “We know it’s a big one.

“We don’t want to put too much pressure on the players, but we have got ourselves into this position and we have got to get ourselves out of it.

“There’s plenty of games left, there’s nine still to play and we know we have got quality in the team.

“Injuries are not helping, but if we get a couple of wins and get some confidence we know we can match any team in this division.

“We just need to get that one win and stop putting pressure on ourselves.”

Morrison wants Rams to be more ruthless after they let a 14-6 half-time lead slip at bottom club Workington Town last week.

Dewsbury were sunk by a last-minute try – despite having a strong wind behind them in the second half – and Morrison reflected: “Not being able to manage the game well enough wasn’t good. Individual errors and some bad management are letting us down a little bit at the moment.”
