ANGRY BOSS Daryl Powell is demanding a “tough, aggressive and positive” response from Castleford Tigers tomorrow.

ANGRY BOSS Daryl Powell is demanding a “tough, aggressive and positive” response from Castleford Tigers tomorrow.

Tigers will play host to St Helens in First Utility Super League, a week after a 58-16 home thrashing by Hull KR.

Powell described Cas’ second half performance in that game as “calamitous” and said he will not accept a repeat.

“It is about moving on now and making up for it and making sure our next performance is a good one,” Powell stated.

“I can’t crack any more whips, I have worn all my whips out this week, so we will see how we go.

“I am confident there will be a response and it needs to be a really tough, aggressive, positive one.”

Saints are on the back of a
38-34 win over Leeds and Powell reckons Tigers will have to be on top of their game to get anything out of it.

“You play at your best against St Helens and it is a tough game, so we have to be at our best,” he stressed.

“They are a bit up and down, but they are tough.

“The team is a good one. They will have been disappointed with some of their performances, but when they play well they are a real challenge.

“You have to play at your best to get over the top of them and that is what we are aiming to do.”

Ben Crooks is back in contention for Tigers after a kidney complaint and Gadwin Springer (groin) could also feature.

Will Maher and academy forward Conor Fitzsimmons are also included in the initial 19. Greg Minikin, who played last week, has joined Batley Bulldogs on dual-registration, along with Ryan Boyle. Larne Patrick also drops out.
