With the Tigers playing two pre-season friendlies this week (Wakefield Wildcats on Sunday) the squad sees many of the clubs under-19s players get a chance to test themselves against the Kingstone Press League One team.
Powell is looking forward to to seeing his charges in action on Friday night:
He said: “This is a great opportunity for some of our younger players to mix in with senior members from our first team squad and show what kind of potential they have.
“I will get to see every member of our squad play over this weekend which is a great lead in as we come to the start of the Super League season. I have no doubt that York will provide a stiff test which is just what the players need at this time in the pre season.”
