Castleford Tigers' games with Leeds Rhinos and Salford OFF as Covid total rises to 17

Castleford Tigers' fixtures with Leeds Rhinos and Salford Red Devils have both been cancelled after four more of their players tested positive for Covid taking the current total to 17.

Daryl Powell's side were due to face Leeds on Friday and Salford next Monday but the latest round of testing has meant further cancellations.

Castleford’s game against Huddersfield Giants scheduled for last Friday was axed after 13 players received positive results following testing last Tuesday.

After the latest positive results, the RFL’s Multiple Cases Group has extended the shutdown of the club.

No decision has yet been made on Castleford’s Round 22 fixture against Wakefield Trinity, with two further rounds of testing to be carried out this week.
