A fast start set Castleford Tigers up for a 16-4 win over Leeds Rhinos in the pre-season Grand Final rematch at the Jungle.

Tigers took a 12-0 lead after 11 minutes through tries by Greg Eden and James Green and two Luke Gale conversions.

Matt Parcell’s touchdown cut the gap to 12-4 at the break, but Oliver Holmes crossed early in the second half to complete the scoring

Rhinos forward Carl Ablett was sin-binned for dissent in the second half of a stop-start game which included 16 penalties..

There was some strong defence from both teams, but appalling conditions - sleet and rain falling on a heavy pitch - made it a dour affair.
