Broncos are hit for six by Dewsbury Rams

Dewsbury Rams laid down the perfect marker for the new season with an impressive six-try, 34-0 victory over London Broncos.

Ben Reynolds’ long pass set up the opening try for Dalton Grant after just five minutes and the Leigh Centurions loanee landed a towering touchline goal.

Dewsbury had Kyle Trout sin-binned but scored twice while they were down to 12 men. Toby Adamson benefited from a superb 40-20 by Reynolds when he barged over after 22 minutes and Reynolds converted.

Debutant Tonks then showed his capabilities by crashing over and Reynolds again goaled for 18-0 at half-time. Grant scored his second try after 49 minutes. Jason Crookes scooped the ball up from acting half-back and showed great strength to force his way over for Dewsbury’s fifth try, which Reynolds improved.

Three minutes from full-time, Jack Teanby celebrated signing a contract extension with the Rams when he barged over for their final score and Reynolds tagged on his fifth goal.

Elsewhere, Batley Bulldogs mauled Hunslet 34-6.
