FORMER SUPER League star Paul Wood has joined Featherstone Rovers’ injury list.
The ex-Warrington player will miss Sunday’s game at Batley in the Kingstone Press Championship after being hurt in the first tackle of the 33-4 defeat by Sheffield four days ago. Coach Andy Hay said: “He is seeing a specialist, but from the first x-rays he might have broken a bone in his foot.He is going to be a loss for a couple of weeks and we’ve got a couple of bangs with some others players, who we are assessing.”
Bulldogs are still without Luke Blake, who suffered a recurrence of a shoulder injury in the Good Friday loss at home to Dewsbury Rams.
Meanwhile, Hunslet Hawks have injury concerns over James Duckworth (shoulder), Michael Haley (groin), and Jack Lee, Ryan Backhouse and Elliott Cosgrove (all concussion) ahead of Sunday’s visit of Whitehaven. James Houston (broken hand) and Matthew Tebb (shoulder) remain on the long-term list, while Brooke Broughton and Jamaine Akaidere have signed dual registration papers with Hemel Stags.
Dewsbury coach Glenn Morrison said changes are likely for Sunday’s game at Doncaster, following Monday’s defeat by Bradford Bulls.
He said: “Prycey [Karl Pryce] is struggling with his lower back again and he’ll probably miss out.
“We’ve got a couple of bumps and bruises, so we’ll have to assess them.”
