Batley Bulldogs v Toronto: We'll give the Wolfpack a real run for their money, insists Diskin

BATLEY BULLDOGS have 'nothing to lose' in tomorrow's huge home clash with Betfred Championship leaders Toronto Wolfpack (3pm), boss Matt Diskin says.

One of the oldest clubs in the game will be underdogs against the newest, but Diskin’s men came through Easter with maximum points and he is sure they will do themselves proud.

“We are going into it with a bit of confidence,” Diskin said.

“We showed some really good character over Easter and ground out some tough wins.

“They are top of the table and they are there for a reason, but if we can tighten one or two areas up I believe we will give them a real run for their money and make it a good spectacle.”

Wolfpack have built a Super League-strength squad and beat Featherstone Rovers and Toulouse Olympique over Easter. Diskin observed: “They have been spending money for fun and their squad reflects that.

“We have to be very disciplined and clinical because if we drop off in any area they will punish us for it.

“We have to work hard for each other as a team and also be a bit better regarding how many penalties we give away and better in good ball with the ball in hand.

“If we do that, we’ll give them a good go.”

Diskin used all his available players in the Easter wins over Dewsbury Rams and Sheffield Eagles and will select from strength, though Izaac Farrell is a doubt due to concussion.
