Elsewhere in the Championship, Halifax eventually proved too strong for hosts Oldham, building on a 12-0 half-time lead to eventually win 30-12. Rochdale Hornets, meanwhile, moved within five points of Sheffield Eagles when they out-gunned visitors Bradford Bulls, 28-14.

And in the battle for second and third, it’s London Broncos nothing setting the pace in the chase behind Hull Kingston Rovers.

Broncos returned from France with a 36-16 victory under their belts on Saturday and, in so doing, opened up a two-pooint gape on hosts Toulouse Olympique.
