Amateur RL: Ukranian internationals hook up with Leeds club Milford Marlins

LEEDS COMMUNITY club Milford Marlins have recruited eight Ukranian internationals.

The group hope experience gained in National Conference Division One will boost their nation’s 2021 World Cup qualification campaign. Marlins coach Gavin Brown said: “They will come into contention on Saturday, at home to Lock Lane, following a full week’s training with the team.”

Andy Barker is set to return for Milford, who are without John Elkington and Elliot Watmough due to injury. Dwayne McRae, Josh Cawood, David Warren and Robin Wilkes are unavailable.

Oulton Raiders host Pilkington Recs tomorrow. Lee Gomersall, Andy Williamson and Dom Flanagan are back in contention, but there are doubts over Clayton Stott and Josh Lancaster, and captain Danny MacIntosh is unavailable. Nathan Conroy and Luke Tomlinson are injured and James Duckworth, Casey Canterbury and Kale Riley unavailable for East Leeds’ visit of Saddleworth Rangers in Division Two.

Hunslet Warriors are at home to Leigh East and Stanningley travel to Hull Dockers. Premier Division leaders Hunslet Club Parkside will be without Luke Pettman and Mark Stubley at home to Wigan St Patrick’s.

Craig Miles (knee) is an injury doubt. Adam Biscomb, Jamie Milburn, Michael Hoyle and Wayne Foster all come into the squad.
