Hunslet Warriors suffered injury and insult in a costly 38-10 defeat at Shaw Cross Sharks in National Conference Division One.

Spokeswoman Pam Crosby said: “Despite the fact that we had half of our team missing – including Caldon Bravo, Gary McClelland, Johnny Dawson, Lloyd Templeton, Karl Featherstone, Brad Gill, Dale Bateson and Jake Corney – we should have performed far better than we did.

“Our defence was nothing short of abysmal at times and Shaw Cross deserved the victory.”

Prop Liam Gale and young loose-forward Luke Powell both impressed before being injured. Richard Wheelhouse, Craig Hickinson and Jordan Gale also had good games for Warriors. Luke Powell and Paul Sebine crossed and Jordan Gale added a goal.

Milford Marlins were beaten 28-18 at Elland. Nick Luff, Eddie Wilson and Steve Bacon crossed and Ryan Oxtoby booted three goals.

Thornhill Trojans hit back from 18-16 down at the break to see off visitors Wibsey Warriors 40-22 in Division Three. Joel Gibson scored three tries and two goals, Liam Morley, Luke Haigh, Scott Green and Jamie Wilson also crossed and Sam Ratcliffe landed four conversions.

High-flying East Leeds suffered a Premier Division setback as they lost 38-20 at lowly Thatto Heath. Nathan West (2), Luke Tomlinson and Jordan Normington scored their tries and Nathan Conroy added two goals.

Oulton Raiders are in the relegation zone following a 40-26 defeat by Rochdale Mayfield. Try scorers were Matty Bullough (2), Johnny Austin, Danny Hardy and Joe Hawley. Dom Flanagan (3) kicked their goals.
