Amateur RL: Promoted Parkside on title track

HUNSLET CLUB Parkside will be playing in the National Conference Premier Division next year and are on course to win the Division One title.

Parkside remain second in the table after a 26-18 win at leaders Underbank Rangers, but only on points difference and have a game in hand.

Jamie Fields scored a try and conversion, Jack Kirmond, Ryan Gaunt, Danny Harrison and Michael Waite also crossed and Andy Hullock added two goals as Parkside recovered from 12-0 down.

Third-placed Milford Marlins lost 27-20 at home to Shaw Cross Sharks. Matt Brocksom, Josh Parle, Connor Parr and Steve Bacon scored Milford’s tries, two of them converted by Jake Payne.

Hunslet Warriors seem to be heading for relegation after a 34-10 home defeat by Normanton Knights. Craig Smith and Liam Brown scored Warriors’ tries and Gary McClelland added a conversion.

Dominic Flanagan scored a hat-trick in Division Two leaders Oulton Raiders’ 60-12 home win over Saddleworth Rangers. Adrian Holdsworth bagged a brace, Josh Murray scored a try and five goals and Matthew Stableford, Hal Day, Lawrence Dibb, Danny Mackintosh and Gary Sargeant also touched down, with Kieron Walpole adding three conversions.

East Leeds won 50-12 at Salford City Roosters. Lee Fisher and Ben Walkin both crossed twice and other try scorers were Luke Tomlinson, Conal Barningham, Kai Simpson, Shane Plunkett and Lee Cosgrove. Tom Sheldrake kicked seven goals.

Jack Sykes scored two tries and five goals as Stanningley won 31-18 at Woolston in Division Three. Daniel Barcoe, Ben Ward and Liam Copland also crossed and Niall Murphy added a drop goal.

Rangi Chase slapped with two-year ban for positive drugs test
