Amateur RL: Parkside up the ante to retain run record

HUNSLET CLUB Parkside maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of National Conference Division Two with a powerful second-half performance against second-placed Thornhill Trojans.

It was 12-12 at the break, but Parkside pulled away to win 34-18. Their try scorers were Omar Alrawi (2), Luke O’Malley, Michael Waite, Jamie Bradley and Jamie Fields, who kicked four goals. Andy Hullock added a goal.

For Trojans, who dropped to third, Mindaugas Bendikas, Adam Bird and Josh Clough crossed and Sam Ratcliffe (2) and George Woodcock kicked goals.

Tommy Griffiths scored two tries for Oulton Raiders in a 26-12 win over Underbank which took them to the top of Division One. Dom Flanagan, Matty Bullough and James Cruickshank also crossed and Danny Stanley kicked three goals.

Milford Marlins slipped to second after being beaten 20-16 by visitors Myton Warriors.

Craig Harrison bagged a brace, Zak Snellgrove also crossed and Ryan Oxtoby kicked two goals.

Man of the match Richard Wheelhouse kicked seven goals in third-placed Hunslet Warriors’ 46-24 victory at Millom.

East Leeds went down 40-26 at home to Featherstone Lions, after trailing 30-0 at half-time.

Easts narrowed the gap to just 12 points in the third quarter before the visitors added two tries to make the game safe. Ryan Gaunt and Reece Kilbride both crossed twice for Easts, teenage winger Joe Walton also touched down and Declan Tomlinson kicked three goals.
