Amateur RL: Marlins keep Sharks at bay to stay on top

MILFORD MARLINS remain top of National Conference Division One after a 12-8 win over Shaw Cross Sharks, but Oulton Raiders collapsed to a 36-32 defeat at York Acorn.

Andy Barker and Jacob Skinner were Marlins’ try scorers, Martin Loveridge converting both.

Raiders turned a 12-0 deficit into a 32-12 lead early in the second half, but were beaten by a try on the final play.

Dom Flanagan crossed twice and Matt Stableford, Jack Ledger, Zac Schofield and Brad Cahill also touched down. Jordan Gale added four conversions.

East Leeds trailed 10-6 at half-time against Hull Dockers in Division Two, but a superb second-half performance sealed a 44-10 win. Try scorers were James Duckworth (2), Curtis Winstanley, Jack Norfolk, Johnny Carter, Joe Isotta, Dave Nurse and Luke Tomlinson, with Nathan Conroy landing six goals.

Jack Smith and Daniel Barcoe both bagged a brace in Stanningley’s 34-4 win over Drighlington. Stephen Welton and Ben Selby also touched down and Liam Copland landed five goals.

Tries by Gareth Croft and Liam Brown and two Daryl Gaunt conversions earned Hunslet Warriors a 12-10 win over Saddleworth Rangers.

Thornhill Trojans recovered from 26-4 down to draw 28-28 with Skirlaugh. Danny Ratcliffe scored two tries and Will Gledhill, Joss Ratcliffe, Jordan Lowther and Ben Kendall got the others.

Hunslet Club Parkside are clear at the top of the Premier Division after thrashing visitors Kells 36-0.

George Clark bagged a brace, other try scorers were Dale Harris, Kieran Murphy, Danny Harrison and Craig McShane, and Jamie Fields (4) and Danny Rowse (2) added goals.
