HUNSLET CLUB Parkside secured their second major honour of the season with a 22-0 whitewash of Wigan St Patrick’s in the National Conference Trophy final at Mount Pleasant, Batley.
Parkside were already the National Cup holders and need one win from their final two league games to secure the Conference Division One title.
The south Leeds side, beaten by Rochdale Mayfield in last year’s Trophy final, were led superbly by stand-off Andy Hullock.
Props Jamie Fields, Luke Pettman and Adam Biscomb also had big games.
Winger Danny Harrison and full-back Craig McShane crossed in the first half and a Fields conversion made it 10-0 at the break.
Hullock landed a penalty and converted after hooker Jamie Bradley crashed over.
Harrison was sin-binned late on, but Parkside sealed their win with a try by centre Jack Kirmond two minutes from time.
Meanwhile, Stanningley are level with West Bowling at the top of Division Three after a 40-0 thrashing of Clock Face Miners.
The top-two will be promoted automatically at the end of the season.
Jordan Walker and Daniel Barcoe both bagged a brace. Will Hickson, Sean Cooper and Josh Turner also crossed and Liam Copland landed six goals.
