Amateur RL: Calderwood in four-star form for Stanningley

FORMER Leeds Rhinos winger Mark Calderwood scored four tries for Stanningley as they crushed Eastmoor 50-6 in National Conference Division Three.

Josh Tate scored a hat-trick and Scott Pascal, Joe Phipps and Dean Parker also touched down. Luke Gallagher landed three goals and Mark Wool added two.

Leaders Hunslet Club Parkside continued their 100 per cent record by thrashing Wibsey Warriors 66-0. Andy Hullock grabbed four tries and five goals and Danny Harrison ran in a hat-trick. Other try scorers were Dale Harris, Sam Thorpe, Kyle McDermott, Craig Miles and Jamie Fields, who added four goals.

Adam Johnson was Thornhill Trojans’ hat-trick hero in a 56-10 romp at Waterhead. Mindaugas Bendikas bagged a brace, Joel Gibson a try and seven goals and Ryan Fenton, Liam Morley, Anthony Broadhead and Mason Bailey a try each, with Danny Ratcliffe adding a goal.

In Division One, Hunslet Warriors went down 24-23 at Elland, who scored a late winning penalty seconds after the visitors had missed with a similar effort.

Inconsistent East Leeds suffered a shock 32-17 home defeat to Thatto Heath Crusaders in the Premier Division. Jason Priestley, Jack Ely and Jordan Normington were Easts’ try scorers, Nathan Conroy converting all three and landing a drop goal.

Tommy Griffiths, Declan Storey, Adrian Holdsworth, James Cruickshank were Oulton Raiders’ try scorers in a 34-20 defeat by Wigan St Patrick’s. Danny Macintosh landed two goals.
