Robert Cowell’s runner got off the mark at the seventh attempt when scoring over six furlongs at Chelmsford, finishing with a real flourish to run out a length-and-a-quarter winner of what was probably just an average novice heat.

Taste The Nectar then made the switch back to handicap company at the same track, after a couple of unsuccessful runs in that sphere in the summer, defying a less-than-ideal passage and a career-high mark to grab a neck victory on the line.

She did well to come from down the field to win in the final strides – and, given the fact she was staying on strongly, a switch up to seven furlongs on her return to Kempton perhaps makes sense.

Thrilla In Manilla should be given a chance to redeem himself in the Bet At racingtv.com Novice Stakes.

Richard Spencer had high hopes for the Iffraaj colt this season, with Classic trials mentioned as a possibility after a visually impressive debut at Newbury last October.

Eight subsequent winners emerged from that maiden, but Thrilla In Manilla did not reappear until last month – when he finished last in the Bengough Stakes at Ascot.

That result probably does not reflect his true ability, because he was far too keen and gave himself little chance of taking a hand in the finish.

Thrilla In Manilla should have lost that freshness now with a run under his belt – and dropped back from Group Three company, he may get his career back on track.

Choreograph is an eye-catching newcomer in the 100% Profit Boost At 32Redsport.com Novice Stakes.

Trained by Roger Charlton for owner Khalid Abdullah, this son of Dansili hails from the family of multiple Group One winner Flintshire.

The fact he is already gelded could be viewed as a negative, but he still has the pedigree to be pretty smart.

Fancy Footings made a winning debut for Tom Dascombe at Southwell at the start of the month, and he can follow up in the Bombardier ‘March To Your Own Drum’ Handicap.

Previously trained by Gordon Elliott and Joseph O’Brien, Fancy Footings appeared to relish the Fibresand surface as he ran out a three-and-a-quarter-length winner over a mile.

He took it up a furlong out and kept on strongly. But given he had previously run well over seven furlongs in Ireland, dropping back in trip should not be an issue.

Silverturnstogold moves the other way, up to a mile from seven furlongs in the Bombardier Golden Beer Handicap.

He hit the mark in an apprentice handicap last week and should be followed as he makes a quick return, with 7lb claimer Elisha Whittington again in the plate.

Hawk High can make a successful return from a lengthy absence in the Make The Most Of Racehorse Ownership With The ROA Handicap Chase at Wetherby.

Winner of the Fred Winter back in 2014, Hawk High has clearly not been the easiest to train – with his career punctuated by long breaks – but he still remains a horse of real potential.

After he fell short against the best in hurdles company, Tim Easterby switched him to fences last term – and everything appeared to be going swimmingly as he won two of his four starts.

However, he missed an intended run at Sedgefield at the end of January and has not been seen since.

His rating of 133 puts him 13lb below his hurdles peak, so perhaps Hawk High still has a bit to work with – if he can pick up where he left off at the start of the year.

Proschema struck over course and distance at the start of November and can make it a Wetherby double in the Rewarding Ownership With The ROA Novices’ Hurdle.

Twice a winner on the level for Tom Dascombe, Proschema hit the bar on his debut for Dan Skelton but impressed on his next outing when winning by 10 lengths.

He produced a fine round of jumping that day, and should be able to defy a penalty here.

Big Shark made a most encouraging start to his career under rules with a Worcester victory for Philip Hobbs last month – and he can follow up at Hereford.

The Tom Symonds Trains In Herefordshire Novices’ Hurdle fits the bill for the five-year-old.
