Seven-up Sedgley Park prove too productive for game Otley

Harrogate had to settle for four points from a hard-fought 14-11 victory over Lymm on the North Premier league. The North Yorkshire side just edged to victory over their Cheshire rivals, but couldn’t secure a bonus point.

Meanwhile, Sandal closed the gap to Harrogate to just three points after winning 37-8 at home against Alnwick and securing a bonus point for their five tries.Elsewhere, Ilkley lost out 24-9 at home against Morpeth.

York made hard work of beating strugglers West Hartlepool, winning out 22-10 winners to maintain the lead in North One East.

Meanwhile, Driffield’s emphatic 49-5 victory over Huddersfield YMCA means they remain just one point behind York. Scarborough lost the lead as they were beaten 21-12 by visitors Pocklington, while Morley remain in the title race with a 23-17 win over Percy Park.

Heath lead the Yorkshire One pack after winning 42-14 over Dinnington, while former leaders Old Brodleians were beaten 17-12.

Elsewhere Beverley stepped up to third after winning 27-12 at home against Keighley.
