Kear's a Hunslet Hawk for a while

HUNSLET HAWKS player-coach Paul March fears Welsh international Elliot Kear could be recalled by engage Super League club Crusaders – but not until next month.

Kear made his debut in the 12-8 Northern Rail Cup defeat by Batley Bulldogs two days ago after joining Hawks for an initial one-month spell.

Crusaders have boosted their squad by bringing in Rhys Williams from Warrington Wolves – but the Cheshire outfit suffered a series of injury concerns in their opening game of the season and could be forced to take their man back.

"If that happens, Crusaders might recall Elliot," said March. "But we have got him for a month and we'll see what happens after that.

"I was pleased with him (on Sunday). He came in and added a bit of something. He is strong, has got good feet and he was the club's man of the match."

Stand-off Danny Grimshaw suffered a hamstring injury against Batley, but March said: "Hopefully that's not too serious."

Leeds may find former forward Steve Morison a bit of a handful when Millwall come to town.
