John Gosden’s brilliant filly Enable will face five rivals in tomorrow’s Darley Yorkshire Oaks on the Knavesmire.

Having already won the Oaks at Epsom and at the Curragh, not to mention her stunning display against the colts in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, Enable has laid claim to being the best mile-and-a-half horse in training.

Gosden also runs Coronet, winner of the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot but rated some 18lb inferior to her stablemate.

Sir Michael Stoute has won the race nine times previously and also fields two smart fillies in Breeders’ Cup winner Queen’s Trust and Abingdon.

Aidan O’Brien’s Alluringly steps back up in class having recently won a Listed race at Gowran. She finished behind Enable at Chester in May and in the Epsom Oaks.

Perhaps Enable’s biggest threat will come from Roger Varian’s Nezwaah, a clear-cut winner of the Pretty Polly in Ireland last time out.

Happy Like A Fool will attempt to go one better than at Royal Ascot when she steps up in trip for the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes.

After having missed the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood due to soft ground, the Wesley Ward-trained daughter of Distorted Humour will bid to put her Queen Mary defeat behind her when tackling six furlongs for the first time in the Group Two.

Madeline won a Listed race at Newbury last time and has been declared by Roger Varian, while Aidan O’Brien will rely upon Actress as he seeks a first triumph in the Lowther.

There is further Irish interest in the form of the Ken Condon-trained Mamba Noire.

Threading, from the yard of Mark Johnston, and the William Haggas-trained Special Purpose will put unbeaten records on the line. The field is completed by Natural (Richard Hannon), Neola (Mick Channon) and So Hi Society (Archie Watson).
