The eight-year-old, who has not been sighted since winning last year’s Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, features among 25 entries for the Grade Three contest.

Edmunds said: “Domesday Book is an intended runner and I’m very happy with him. I can’t do much more to get him fit at home without having a run. Ideally I would have liked to have got a run into him, but he has had the two away-days.

“He has been acting like an absolute hooligan which means he is in good form. It is great to have him back. We are going there very happy with him and the good ground won’t be a problem.

“Ciaran Gethings is out injured so Gina Andrews will ride him. The owner was keen for her to stay on after the Cheltenham win and she will take another 3lb off his back.”

Relentless Dreamer could bid to give trainer Rebecca Curtis another big end-of-the-season winner, having claimed the Scottish Grand National with Joe Farrell.

Nigel Twiston-Davies could give top weight Blaklion the chance to bounce back from his early departure in the Grand National.

The nine-year-old, who was brought down at the first in the Aintree marathon, is one of four entries for the Naunton handler alongside Benbens, Bigbadjohn and Calett Mad.

Last year’s winner Henllan Harri is one of two entries for trainer Peter Bowen alongside Minella Daddy, while 2016 victor The Young Master could represent the yard of Neil Mulholland together with Carole’s Destrier.

Ante-post favourite Missed Approach, winner of this year’s Kim Muir, has been given an entry by Warren Greatrex.
