DONCASTER KNIGHTS have opted to go to Headingley for the first part of their Championship play-off semi-final.

As the higher ranked team - Doncaster finished second ahead of Yorkshire Carnegie in third - they had the right to choose when to play their home leg.

The Knights opted to face Carnegie at Castle Park on Sunday, May 8 (2.30pm) which is the weekend of the second leg.

They, therefore, visit their rivals first up on Sunday, May 1 (kick-off 3pm).

The other semi-final sees fourth-placed Bedford Blues face Bristol, who finished in first.

The final regular round of Championship action takes place on Saturday - Doncaster head to London Welsh and Carnegie visit Jersey - but the top-four placings have already been confirmed.

The dates for the play-off final have also been confirmed as Wednesday May 18 and Wednesday May 25, with both games kicking off at 7.45pm and televised live on Sky Sports.
