HARROGATE’S John Parry continued to impress in the US Open at Chambers Bay when he carded his best round of the week on Saturday, a one-over 71.

Parry, who has made the cut in his second US Open as he did his first, at Merion two years ago, was tied for 39th after 54 holes on 216 (72 73 71).

He dropped shots at two early holes, the 2nd and 4th, but was quick to respond, birdieing holes six, seven and eight.

He was out in one-under 34 and came back in 37 after shots got away from him at the 11th and 17th.
