ALWOODLEY’S Kirsty Beckwith is fourth in the English Girls’ Open Amateur Stroke Play championship at Sheringham albeit 12 shots adrift of runaway leader Emma Allen, of Meon Valley.

Beckwith (74 75) was out in level par on Wednesday, birdies at three and eight sandwiching two bogeys. She had two bogeys in an inward 37.

Garforth’s Laura Morrison shares 10th place (76 78), recovering well after an outward nine of 42 which included five bogeys and one birdie.

Her inward nine of 36 contained another birdie and just two dropped shots.

Pannal’s Olivia Jackson (81 78) and Abigail Smee, of Ganstead Park (77 82) are in a tie for 23rd place.

Jackson had two birdies in her Wednesday round, while Smee recovered her poise after a traumatic outward nine which included a double and triple bogey to play the inward nine in 37.
