The rumours that Massimo Cellino is about to sell up and buy a stake in another Italian club appear to be gathering momentum.

It would be good if we get confirmation during the international break and our new owner(s) can be greeted by a capacity home crowd at the Newcastle game live on Sky.

I also hope that our new owners have been impressed by how Garry Monk, Pep Clotet and James Beattie have resurrected our club and reignited the hope and belief amongst Leeds United supporters and declare their intentions to finance the purchase of our impressive defensive loan players asap.

This could be a very amazing development in the history of our football club. MOT

I hope the full house against Newcastle will mean we can deafen the Geordies in the crowd by singing them into submission, and send a message to Pontus Jansson that he would be a mug to sign for a club like Watford when he could stay here and be a part of something way bigger.

Cook has not been missed

I’ll probably pilloried for saying this, but I think Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips are actually showing more attacking/goal threat than Lewis Cook did.

They seem more likely to score and get in better positions to do so. Phillips isn’t afraid to try a shot and, but for some good saves, would have had more goals by now.

They may not make the eye-catching runs that Cook did but they may be more effective in attacking areas.

It is debatable but, what I think, is that we haven’t missed Lewis Cook as much as most people thought we would.

With regards to Massimo Cellino selling up, now would be a good time as long as the new owners leave the coaching/playing side alone and just get involved when it comes to providing Garry Monk with the funds to strengthen when the transfer window opens.

Owners should concentrate on the financial side of running the club and leave the playing side to other more experienced people. The head coach firstly, but if he’s failing then the senior management such as Ben Mansford. I don’t think there are many examples of a team succeeding where the owner is closely involved in playing side.

If Cellino does stay, hopefully the last couple of months have actually made him realise that!
