Yorkshire Amateur League: White bags four to fire Stanningley into cup final

Leroy Watson fired Wigton Moor ahead before the break while Jamie Sheard doubled their advantage after the hour mark.

Brad White scored twice for Stanningley, levelling the game five minutes from time as the game went to extra-time.

Andy Shields pounced on a loose ball to complete the comeback for Stanningley just before the end of the first period before the floodgates opened.

White bagged another two goals while Tom Stewart, Brad Sharrocks and James Allan all got on the scoresheet

Stanningley will meet either Farnley Sports or Farsley Celtic Juniors in the final.

In the Premier Division, Farnley Sports have closed the gap at the top to six points with a 2-0 win over Grangefield.

Grangefield had been unbeaten in their last four but fell behind when Barrie Danby struck from the edge of the penalty area before Adam Horner added a second.

Farsley Celtic Juniors remain top of the league, despite being held to a 2-2 draw with Alwoodley.

A tap-in for Sam Bradley gave Farsley an early lead before Owen Smith and Dan Whincup gave Alwoodley a half-time lead.

Top scorer Danny Lyons scored his 27th goal in all competitions to give Farsley a point.

Ealandians are fourth, and have games in hand over their title rivals. having comfortably beaten Rodillian 6-0.

A hat-trick from James Flower, a brace from James Greenwood and a single goal for Josh Hans keeps Rodillian in the bottom two.

Trinity left it late as they earned a point away at Leeds Medics and Dentists.

Sammy Bzeu had given Medics the lead but Trinity came back to find an equaliser in the final minutes through Andy Kenyon.

In the Championship, St Nicholas are now just one point behind leaders Beeston Juniors as they won 5-0 away at Stanningley Reserves.

Roy Fogarty took home the match ball as he scored three of St Nicholas’ goals while Parandeep Singh and Ryan Brough were also on target.

Leeds Independent won just their second league game of the campaign as they beat Old Batelians 6-1 which included a brace from David Pemberton.

Shire Academics are fourth as they won 7-2 at home to Alwoodley Reserves, helped by braces from Cal Chalkley, Alex Cookson and Jack Self.

Leeds Medics and Dentists Reserves missed the chance to close the gap on the leaders as they were held 1-1 by Collingham Juniors.

DIVISION six side Morley Town III upset the odds as they beat Leeds Medics and Dentists III 3-1 to reach the Hodgson Cup final.

Division One side Medics are 44 places above Morley but they found themselves behind within five minutes thanks to a goal from Akilu Giva.

Lee Burrow and Jason Helm rounded off a brilliant win for Morley with Nick Maxwell’s added-time strike merely a consolation for Medics.

Morley will face Shire Academics III of Division Five in the final later this month.

In Division One, Drighlington remain unbeaten as they drew 1-1 with Rothwell Reserves.

Shane Sowden was on target for Drighlington while Jack Greaves scored for Rothwell with Daniel Greaves taking the plaudits for a great goalkeeping performance.

Calverley United’s title hopes were dented as they were beaten 3-1 away to third-placed Garforth Rangers.

Chris Coates gave Calverley a half-time lead but a double from super sub Lee Turner and a strike from Myles Veigas meant the leaders left empty handed.

Two late Chris Hick goals lifted Colton Athletic off the bottom of the table, 4-2 winners away to Grangefield.

Elsewhere, Wortley were comfortable 5-1 winners over St Bedes while Amaranth won 4-0 against Dewsbury Rangers.

In Division Two, Farsley Celtic Juniors missed the chance to go top as they threw away a 3-0 lead to lose 5-3.

Alex Gyte scored a first-half hat-trick only for Churwell Lions to hit back, Ash Wainwright and Pride Chisora both scoring twice while Kieron Williams was also on target.
