York City 3 Oxford United 1: Revenge sweet for Minstermen
York City gained sweet revenge over Oxford United for a play-off final defeat two years ago with a 3-1 success over League Two leaders Oxford United at Bootham Crescent.
The Minstermen raced into a first-minute lead through Michael Coulson with Ashley Chambers soon adding another but only after goalkeeper Michael Ingham had saved a Deane Smalley penalty.
Patrick McLaughlin then leaked an unfortunate own-goal before later restoring the hosts’ two-goal advantage early in the second-half.
