But Natalie Brace, who netted for the Vixens, remained happy with their performance, describing it as “a good test that has given us some positives.”

Meanwhile, a Jodie Redgrave brace could not help Brighouse from a similar fate, as they drew 2-2 with Wolves Women after extra time only to lose 4-2 on penalties. Leeds Ladies were outclassed by league rivals Liverpool in a 4-1 rout.

The Women’s West Riding County Cup featured an incredible 16-0 win for Tingley Athletic over Ossett Town Reserves. Farsley Celtic also cruised past Dewsbury Rangers 8-2 to reach the second round.

Despite playing for 80 minutes with 10 players, a commanding performance from midfielder Jade Nelson helped Bradford PA recover from a difficult opening 20 minutes to beat Ossett Town Firsts 5-3. Nelson’s goal coupled with braces from captain Sarah Huby and Megan Medeley secured them a first Premiership win.

Premiership leaders Leeds Medics & Dentists also won 5-3, keeping their 100 per cent league record intact at the expense of Brayton Belles.

Yorkshire Amateur stayed top of the First Division after their routine 4-1 win over Wetherby Athletic. However, Farsley Celtic Reserves kept pace with Amateur by dismantling Hebden Royd United 12-0 to maintain their winning league start.

In Division Three Middleton Athletic and Ripon City Panthers maintained their winning league starts, with an 11-0 win for Athletic over Durkar Devils and a narrow 4-3 win for Ripon at West Leeds respectively.

Lower Hopton also bagged a big 8-0 win over Farsley Celtic Reserves, while Ilkley Town kept their promotion hopes alive with a 4-2 win over lowly Kirkstall Crusaders.
