Liv Thackeray’s screamer was the pick of the bunch, as captain Alarna Fuller, Olivia Dacosta and Sarah Danby also scored to help Guiseley recover from Simona Petkova’s equaliser after Liz White had opened the scoring.

Elsewhere, Charlotte Proud’s late goal secured Brighouse Town a 1-1 draw with fellow league strugglers Morecambe, with Town feeling hard-done-by after two unsuccessful penalty appeals and a last minute effort that hit the underside of the crossbar.

In the League Shield First Round, Brighouse Athletic A overcame Third Division rivals West Leeds 7-5 in extra time after a 4-4 normal time score. Third Division Lower Hopton almost secured a scalp against Farsley Celtic Reserves but were just edged 2-3 by the First Division side, but Brighouse Town Development made their superior league status clear by battering Amaranth 16-0.

Tyersal also recorded double figures in their 10-2 win over Silsden Town Development, while Hemsworth MW easily saw off Kirkstall Crusaders 8-1 and Leeds Medics and Dentists beat Ripon City Panthers 5-1. League action saw a wasteful Bradford Park Avenue thrashed 7-1 by Silsden Firsts in the Premier Division. Sarah Huby pulled a goal back for Avenue making it 3-1, but Silsden were too strong in the end for Bradford as they leapfrog Avenue into seventh.

Tingley Athletic are now top of the Premier Division on goal difference after winning 4-1 against Brayton Belles, but Brighouse Athletic Firsts remain in hot pursuit after Vicky Mladenovic’s brace and Ash Butler’s goal saw off Ossett Town Firsts 3-0. First Division leaders Yorkshire Amateur outclassed Leeds rivals Republica Internationale 4-0, as Rachel Eastwood’s first-half goal broke the deadlock, before Jodie Daly’s brace and Laura Burton’s classy late goal sealed Amateur’s fifth successive win.

Meanwhile, Tingley Athletic Reserves beat Wetherby Athletic 2-0 to pull clear from Athletic in the table.

Skipton Town lost 1-0 to Second Division title rivals Leeds City, while Boroughbridge thrashed bottom-side Ossett Town Reserves 6-2 and Clifton Rangers drew 2-2 with fellow promotion hopefuls Dewsbury Rangers.

In the only Third Division fixture Middleton Athletic beat Farsley Celtic ‘A’ to maintain their one hundred percent league record.
