Bamford's impending arrival will see Marco Bielsa seal only his second permanent signing of the summer, while filling the vacant number nine position that has been all too evident during pre-season.

But what can Leeds Untied fans expect to see from the striker? Mark Donnelly, a reporter at the Hartlepool Mail, has given Leeds fans a glimpse into their new signing:

What type of player is he and what will he bring to Leeds?

Pacey, direct and full of energy, Bamford is a real handful when he's in full flow.

It's easy to see his strong grounding in the game, courtesy of time at Nottingham Forest and Chelsea as a youngster, with that upbringing making him a well-rounded and extremely effective player.

And what that gives him more than anything is intelligence. His off-the-ball movement and awareness of those around him is what makes him a dangerous player.

The footage above, which shows Bamford netting a hat-trick against Leeds, is the perfect example of that intelligence and his positioning and movement saw him placed perfectly for fairly simple finishes.

His height is an asset too - at 6ft 1in, Bamford can be a threat in the air and has exhibited that on several occasions.

Comfortable playing as a lone striker, part of a pair or out wide, his versatility has been well-utilised at Middlesbrough and could prove a similarly useful asset for Marco Bielsa.

How has he performed at Middlesbrough?

Bamford is actually in his second spell at the Riverside Stadium and it's fair to say that his return to Teesside hasn't quite been as fruitful as his initial loan spell.

During his first spell in the North East, back in the 2014/15 season, the then-Chelsea man netted 19 times in 44 appearances as Boro narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

He was ruthless in front of goal and flourished under the fluid style of football encouraged by manager Aitor Karanka. His effectiveness in such a style of play should prove promising for Leeds fan, given that the early indications suggest that Bielsa will look to implement a very similar method.

With Tony Pulis tending to rotate strikers, Bamford was often sacrificed and used as an impact player off the bench - especially towards the end of the season.

However, the 24-year-old is still firmly a fans' favourite at the Riverside and it speaks volumes that neither club nor fans are happy to see him leave the club.

Will he score goals?

This is always the big question when signing strikers, and especially so when such high sums are paid.

And it's a question which will always hang over Bamford given his somewhat mixed record.

Loan spells at Norwich, Burnley and Crystal Palace yielded not a single goal, but his record in the Championship is generally quite impressive.

If he's given regular opportunities then Bamford could well prove prolific, and his prior experience in the Championship suggests that he could well be a regular goalscorer for the Whites.
