Wakefield (Saturday): Survival bid still on the cards for New Pot Oil

New Pot went into the fixture in last place in 10th, but in what was a crucial game, they earned a valuable three points to put the pressure right back on Old Bank. The win means that New Pot are now just four points behind Old Bank with a game in hand. Next, New Pot travel to third-place Healdfield in a must-win game. Elsewhere, sixth-placed Marsh were 6-1 winners at home to fifth-place Featherstone Colliery.

In the Premier, Beechwood Gate all but secured the league title after a 2-1 win at Prince of Wales. Gate lead the table by nine points ahead of second-place Crofton Sports with three games to go, but have a significant goal difference of plus 35. Crofton were in action at home to fourth-places Walton and produced a comfortable display to win 3-0.

Third-placed FC Gawthorpe also have a fighting chance of pushing for the title after a 4-2 win at bottom place Snydale Athletic.

There is still plenty of action to go in the Premier. Beechwood require a point to win the title and will play host to second-last Fieldhead Hospital next.

Crofton Sports are on the road to AFC Ossett and will be desperate to keep momentum as they sit only a point above FC Gawthorpe.

Elsewhere, Red Lion Alverthorpe put the icing on the cake of their Division Two title after a 1-1 draw at Ryhill.

Horbury Athletic finished in sixth after a 5-3 win at fourth-placed Durkar.
