Goals from Josh Greening and Adam Baker were enough to see off Armthorpe Welfare ensuring that Taddy claimed the only promotion place available.

Miller is already looking forward to assessing targets for next season with the club owners. He said: “Once the dust settles we’ve got to start looking strategically at where we go next – we’ve got to sit down together now.”

Albion still have one league game to play against Athersley Recreation at home tomorrow but have an impressive points tally of 95 and Miller believes the communication between him and his employers has been a big factor in this season’s success and will have to be again if they want to do well next season.

He said: “What we did very well this year was very early on I got a feel for where the club wanted to be and I hope they got a feel for where I wanted to be. And the rest of it just happened, we were always on the same page.”

After near misses in the two previous campaigns, Taddy will finally be plying their trade in a higher division. “The club will love it, they’ll absolutely love it, they’ll be well received,” said Miller after achieving promotion on Thursday night.

Albion also have a chance to claim a notable double as they take on Albion Sports in the semi-final of the League Cup on May 3. Miller added: “Now we’re in it and it’s the semi-final stage, it would be silly not to have a go at it.”

Fans will be able to ‘pay what they want’ at the turnstiles for Tadcaster’s home game with Athersley Recreation tomorrow to celebrate the club’s promotion.
