The YEP understands that Leeds have made Bartley one of their top transfer targets this summer and are in talks over a permanent deal.

Bartley spent the 2016/17 campaign on loan at Elland Road racking up 45 league appearances in the process and scored six goals from the centre of defence for the Whites in a stellar campaign.

The 26-year-old though has found game time hard to come by having made just two Premier League starts this campaign and saw his season ended this week by a knee injury this week.

Swans manager Carvalhal, who was speaking ahead of his sides trip to Bournemouth, has revealed he is yet to sit down and discuss the coming window with the club as their ongoing battle with top flight survival rumbles on.

“It is the first time I hear about that," Carvalhal told Wales Online of Bartley's future. "I never discuss anything with the club about players coming or going out.

“It is the same, everything about players for next season is speculation as I have not spoken about it and I will not comment on that especially at this moment where we have more important things to do.”
