League Two promotion hopefuls Crawley have signed Arsenal forward Sanchez Watt, 20, on loan for the rest of the season.

The England Under-19 international was on loan at Leeds United last season and spent two months with Sheffield Wednesday earlier this campaign.

Elsewhere, Sheffield United have extended James Beattie’s short-term deal until the end of the season.

The former Everton, Stoke and Rangers striker returned for a second spell at Bramall Lane in November, but injury and illness have impacted on his fitness and restricted him to seven substitute appearances.

Manager Danny Wilson said: “He’s a quality player. We’re delighted to have him for what he brings us on and off the pitch.”

The 33-year-old, who scored 34 goals in 60 starts in his first spell for the Blades between 2007 and 2009, is suspended for the next three games after being sent off for violent conduct at Charlton last weekend.

Reading have signed Tomasz Cywka from Derby on a free transfer.

The Pole was made available by the Rams at the start of the month and has now linked up with the Royals until the end of the season.

Jermaine Beckford made his Leeds United debut on March 21 2006.
