Felix Wiedwald - Lingering doubts about his game were fuelled by the defeat at Hillsborough. Dominance and control of his box were lacking, especially for the first goal. 4/10

Luke Ayling - Fletcher got above him for the second goal and although Ayling stopped Reach from going to town, he was made to look ordinary. 4/10

Matthew Pennington - Let Hooper get away from him for both of his finishes and in amongst some blocks and clearances, was made to look like a centre-back who hadn’t played for a while. 4/10

Pontus Jansson - Got in the way of some of Wednesday’s efforts and almost scored but United’s defence were well out of sorts. Stretchered off towards the end. 5/10

Gaetano Berardi - Pretty clear that Christiansen needs to find a solution in this area of his team. Wednesday put Berardi under huge pressure. 4/10

Eunan O’Kane - Was illness still bothering him? As poorly as he has played this season and looked off the pace for 70 minutes. Late error let Lee score. 3/10

Kalvin Phillips - Comfortable to begin with but completely lost after that. Barry Bannan was allowed all the space he needed to boss the midfield. 4/10

Gjanni Alioski - Should have done better with his early chance and a goal at that stage would have put the wind up Wednesday. Very disappointing. 3/10

Samuel Saiz - Ran the derby initially, standing up to Wednesday and driving through them brilliantly. United’s biggest threat by a mile. 7/10

Kemar Roofe - Good, early signs followed by an anonymous afternoon. Christiansen might need to have a tactical rethink away from home. 4/10

Pierre-Michel Lasogga - Struck a post and although it was hardly noticed, did make some clever runs up front. Service to him did nothing to help. 5/10
