The Scot bowed to public opinion and agreed to don the attire after promising supporters he would do just that in the wake of the Millers’ 2-1 win over Reading at the New York Stadium in midweek which secured their Championship status.

On the demand for him from fans to don the beach wear, Evans said: It’s been absolutely fantastic,” he added. “It’s not being disrespectful to (already relegated) Wigan or Millwall, I know what those managers and their supporters stand for.
