Jansson is suspended and as expected is replaced by Cooper at centre-back to partner Kyle Bartley at the heart of the Whites defence.
But Monk has also opted to bring Sacko off the bench and into his starting XI at the expense of Vieira who drops to the substitutes.
Kalvin Phillips is now likely to drop back from the no 10 role he fulfilled in last Sunday’s 2-0 loss at home to Newcastle United and partner Eunan O’Kane at defensive central midfield.
Sacko is set to play on the right wing with Souleymane Doukara on the left and Kemar Roofe either playing in the no 10 role just behind striker Chris Wood, or joining the leading goalscorer upfront in a 4-4-2.
Rob Green keeps his place in goal with Luke Ayling at right back and Charlie Taylor at left back.
Alex Mowatt also returns to the United bench having been left out altogether against Newcastle.
Leeds United team v Rotherham: Green, Ayling, Cooper, Bartley, Taylor, Phillips, O’Kane, Sacko, Roofe, Doukara, Wood. Subs: Silvestri, Dallas, Berardi, Mowatt, Grimes, Vieira, Antonsson.
