Beeston faced Leeds City Old Boys in last Wednesday night’s final and an equaliser from Adam Fowler ensured Beeston bagged a 1-1 draw after City led through Adi Chapman. The game was then decided on penalties and Houghton saved two spot kicks before stepping up to net the decisive kick as part of a 4-2 triumph on penalties. Beeston’s Fowler, Ryan Boden and Paul McMullen were also successful.

Last night saw the final of the flagship Leeds & District FA Senior Challenge Cup take place between Carlton Athletic and Leeds Medics & Dentists. Medics sealed their spot in the final with last Thursday’s 3-2 victory against West Yorkshire League outfit Robin Hood Athletic.

Carlton booked their place in the final of the West Riding FA County Challenge Cup for the third year running with last Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat of Rawdon Old Boys.

A brace from Anees Younis booked a date with either Ilkley Town Juniors or Alwoodley who will face off in the second semi tonight. The final will be on Wednesday, May 16.

This Friday will see South Seacroft take on East End Park in the Leeds & District FA Sunday District Cup final at Whitkirk Social & Sports Club.

On the Sunday football front, The Woodcock held their nerve on Friday to win the Leeds & District FA Sunday Jubilee Cup, causing heartache for beaten finalists New Moorside. After a goalless draw, The Woodcock edged it on penalties, 4-2.

Last Friday evening saw Ferrybridge Progressive WMC’s County Sunday Cup dreams ended through a 2-0 loss against Olympic who will play HT Sports in the final on Friday, May 18.

The final of the Leeds FA’s flagship Sunday Senior Cup will be between Hope Inn Whites and Whitkirk Wanderers, taking place at Elland Road on May 9.
