National North/Evo-Stick: Farsley face another stern play-off test

Both sides sit just outside the Evo-Stik Premier play-off places with Hednesford narrowly coming out on top 2-1 last time they met, and Lakeland is again expecting tomorrow’s outing to be decided on fine margins.

“A lot of games in this league are very, very close,” said Lakeland. “Sometimes the difference can just be switching off at vital moments or being ruthless when you get those big chances.

“It’s certainly going to be a tough game, (Hednesford) are quite a big and physical side, but if we’ve got any aspirations of getting in the play-offs then we have to be looking to win the game which is what we’ll be trying to do.

“We’re performing well and I’m pleased with the efforts of the players so far, but we’ve just got to start converting all these draws that we’ve been accumulating into wins.”

Elsewhere, Tadcaster Albion look to continue their impressive recent Evo-Stik North run when they welcome recently faltering Glossop North End. Ossett Town have experienced a mini-revival of late, scoring nine goals in their last four games ahead of their home outing with Ramsbottom United.

Meanwhile, Ossett Albion look to recapture their end-of-year form in their match at Kendal Town, while Brighouse Town take on Albion’s relegation rivals Atherton Collieries. With their run of league victories now extending to seven games, Frickley Athletic will be highly favoured to make it eight tomorrow as they face struggling Market Drayton Town – sitting second in Evo-Stik South.

Elsewhere, a tough trip to National League North leaders Salford City awaits Bradford Park Avenue tomorrow, with Mark Bower’s men still sitting just outside the play-off places after a four-game winless run.

A trip to Wembley is likely to be on the minds of Harrogate Town as they enter the FA Trophy Fourth Round for the first time at home to Billericay Town.
