CRAIG Farrand and Luke Gordon both scored hat-tricks as Farsley Celtic Juniors consolidated second spot in the Premier Division with an 11-2 thumping of visiting Rothwell.
A Tom Ormondroyd double, and goals to Rob McDougall, Andy Cooper and Ben Wilson moved Celtic to within seven of top with two games in hand. Brad Newsome and Ian Hutchinson netted for Rothwell.
Leeds Medics and Dentists were too strong on their travels for bottom side FC Headingley winning 7-1. Brad Chambers and Amir Ameen both bagged braces, whilst Sam Hinchcliffe, Dave Emms and Alex Monk added the rest. Matt Raw was on target for Headingley.
Old Modernians were 3-1 winners at home to Shire Academics in Yorkshire Old Boys Shield Round 2. Paul Hurrell, Paul Green and Rees Omidiran were on target for Mods whilst Paul Benson netted for Shire.
Ealandians were also home winners in Round 2 with a 3-0 win over Rodillian. James Greenwood, James Parkinson and James Symonds were all on target. Adam Lightbowlers scored a hat-trick as fifth-place Almondburians stunned their hosts and table topping Colton Athletic 7-0 in Division 1. Jason Stock grabbed two whilst Marcus Hedley and David Fisher added the extras. Grant Jackson found the back of the net as Grangefield Old Boys Reserves were 1-0 winners at seventh-place St Nicholas. Collingham Juniors OB moved up to third with a 2-0 win at home over Old Centralians. Jamie Rowlands bagged a brace for the hosts against the 10th-place side.
Wortley moved up to third in Division 2 with a crushing 7-0 win at Methley United. Gaz Martin, Danny Purcell and Jordan Hay bagged two goals each, with Cody Doyle adding the seventh. Bainbridge came from behind to win in 3-2 in the dying minutes at Ealandians Reserves in the only game in Division 3.
Hussain Iqbal, Hassan Iqbal and Shoaib Hussain were the heroes for Bainbridge. Sam Dawtry and Curtis Cochrane netted for Ealandians. North Leeds were held at home to a 2-2 draw by ninth-placed Rodillian Res in Division 5. Jack Longley and Scott Wallace were on target, with Dan Bean and Mark Hutchinson netting for the home side.
Third-place Shire Academics Reserves were also held to a draw at home, with the game finishing 3-3 against Old Modernians 3rds. Ben Turner, Phil Gillett and Danny Claxton were on target for Mods, whilst Sean Wheatley, Cal Chalkley and Oliver Banks netted for Shire. Leeds City Old Boys 3rds were 6-2 winners against the travelling St Bedes AFC 3rds in Division 6. Dom Taylor, Alastair Islip and Mike Ward all netted braces for Leeds, whilst Mark Hayward and Anthony Garner were on target for St Bedes.
