a mouth-watering FA Cup tie with Huddersfield Town awaits Leeds United, who advanced to the third round with a thrilling 4-3 extra-time victory against Doncaster Rovers Belles.

A quick double from Rebecca Hunt put Leeds 2-1 up after an early opener from Doncaster, before another Belles equaliser saw Hannah Campbell restore the Whites’ lead at 3-2.

But a goal from Doncaster deep into injury time took this absorbing Yorkshire derby to extra-time, which saw Katie Thompson win it with a stunning 25-yard strike.

Leeds were dealt a blow late on when captain Bridie Hannon was stretchered off with a broken leg.

The FA Cup held different fortunes for Guiseley Vixens however, as they bowed out to their league rivals Derby County in a 2-0 loss.

Meanwhile, Brighouse Town dropped further points in the Premier League North Division One promotion race with Lauren Doyle rescuing a 1-1 draw against second-from-bottom Morecambe.

The sole affair in the West Riding Premier Division saw Brighouse Athletic halt Wetherby Athletic’s strong recent run with a very eventful 3-2 victory.

Sharon Bates and Debbie Tomlinson put Brighouse 2-0 up with Wetherby then reduced to ten players after a penalty incident. However, Holly Fowler and Rachel Fowler pegged it back for 2-2 only for Sarah Hemingway to snatch a dramatic late win for Brighouse.

A pulsating First Division promotion clash ended 4-4 between Lower Hopton and Ripon City, with Becky Woollin (2), Dani Anthony and Ruby Marlow scoring for Lower Hopton, while Louise Wilson, Bethan Ratcliff and Georgie Taylor netted for Ripon who stay one point clear in first with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, First Division strugglers Boroughbridge grabbed a valuable 5-3 win against Dewsbury Rangers, while Republica Internationale beat a resilient Tyersal 4-1 through Talin Aghanian (2), Molly Asher and Jane Turner.

Abbie Tate scored for Tyersal.

Former Second Division leaders, Ossett United Reserves, lost another big promotion game in their 4-2 defeat to Leeds United Development.

Katie Astle, Molly Bridson, Jessica Endley, Hannah Plater earned Leeds the win while Charlotte Gough and Gemma Howell scored Ossett’s consolations.

Farsley Celtic Juniors Firsts now take top spot after a 5-1 thrashing of Pontefract Sport and Social, while Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves just saw off Huddersfield Amateur 3-2.

Elsewhere, Phoenix demolished rock-bottom Garforth Rangers 13-0, while a third win on the trot saw Thackley Reserves beat Durkar Devils 5-1.
