West Riding County Amateurs: Two-goal Tyersal get the needle as Jagger records hat-trick

lITTLETOWN WON their first three points of the Premier Division season after triumphing 3-2 at Tyersal, writes ROB CONLON.

Joe Jagger was the hero as his hat-trick ensured Tyersal’s strikes from David Geddes and Wayne Wright were in vain.

Golcar United went top with their seventh win in seven games over visitors Hunsworth. Dean Siddiz and Jon Newiss bagged the goals in the 2-0 win.

Second placed Bay Athletic were stunned 5-2 at Campion as Jordan Missin and Steve Hollingworth both scored twice. Adam Jarret added the fifth with Kitson Gayle and Kieran Ryan scoring consolations for Athletic.

Jon Booth scored a remarkable five goals in Ovenden West Riding’s 8-0 rout of Huddersfield YMCA.

Jordan Coduri’s double and Jay Carney completed the scoring for the home side.

Mark McGee scored twice to help Steeton to a 4-2 victory at winless Kirkburton.

Andy King and Andy Holden also got on the scoresheet to ensure Thomas Richter’s brace wasn’t enough to win Kirkburton’s first points.

Gareth Jones scored a hat-trick as Halifax Irish won 4-2 at Lower Hopton.

Callum Meade completed the scoring for Irish while Lincold Adams and Scott Ryan bagged Lower Hopton’s goals.

Elsewhere, Storthes Hall triumphed 3-1 over visitors Salts thanks to a Gavin Armitage brace and Joshimur Bradshaw strike.

In Division One, Wakefield City defeated Steeton Reserves in a high scoring encounter which finished 8-4.

Rob Bloomfield (2), Paul Scott (2), Ryan Barker, Conor Glavin, Aaron Hurst and Nash Connolly all scored for the away side while Ross Bailey and Josh Huntley both notched twice for winless Steeton.

Thornes FC dropped points for the second consecutive week after losing 5-2 to Bradford Horton Sports.

Ben Long and Daniel Payne scored the consolation goals as Lee Smith and Paul Andrew both struck twice with Ikhlawq Ahmed completing the scoring for the visitors.

Wibsey scored five goals for the third week running in their 5-1 home victory over Overthorpe SC.

James Brooke, James Cronin, Danny Farrar, Daniel O’Donnell and Jamie Brennan got the goals while Nicky Croisdale struck for Overthorpe.

Adam Turner’s hat-trick helped Ventus Yeadon Celtic to their third win in three games as they beat Campion Reserves 4-2. Usmann Hussain scored the visitors goals while Kyle Shah completed the scoring for Celtic.

Roman Zurik’s four goals moved Dudley Hill Rangers up to third with a 4-2 home success over Lepton Highlanders.

Chris Gillespie’s strike and a Joe Cooke penalty gave Rangers something to cheer for.

Westbrook YMCA had Robert Hough and an own goal to thank for their 2-1 win over DRAM Community.

Ryan Gledhill scored the winless away side’s solitary goal.
