LEEDS MEDICS & Dentists claimed the scalp of last year’s runners-up and Wakefield League kings Real Moor as a 3-0 victory booked a return to the Leeds & District FA Senior Cup semi-finals, writes LEE SOBOT.

Yorkshire Amateur League (YAL) leaders Medics never looked back after going 1-0 up inside two minutes through Francisco Matos after an assist from Johnathan Makela.

Brad Chambers then netted in the 25th and 44th minute to set up semi-final date with West Yorkshire League (WYL) side Robin Hood Athletic who won 2-1 at home to league rivals Whitkirk Wanderers.

Matthew Gould and Lewis Richardson struck for Athletic with Steven Richardson consoling Whitkirk who had Daniel Sheriffe sent off.

Defending champions Beeston St Anthony’s booked their place in the last four with a 4-2 success at fellow WYL big guns Leeds City. Leeds strikes from Mark Ferguson and Luke Norman proved in vain in the face of a Beeston double from Sam Morrell plus a Joe Wood strike and Sean Jeavons penalty.

Beeston will play either Carlton Athletic or Headingley who eased to a 5-0 victory at Rothwell to set up their quarter-final date with Carlton. Jamie Bywater and Ashley Austin netted braces with Richard Booth also netting.

In the District Cup, Beeston’s YAL side booked their spot in the semi finals with a fine 4-2 triumph at Leeds Modernians Reserves.

Adgykum Boateng and Tony Garth both netted twice for Beeston’s YAL Championship outfit with Mark Giddens and Jake Topp among those providing assists.

Beeston’s YAL side will play Leeds City Old Boys who eased to a 5-1 win at fellow YAL Division One side Leeds Medics & Dentists 3rds. Reuben Young notched twice for City Old Boys for whom Ali Lewis, Carl Kennedy and Adi Chapman also struck. Beeston’s WYL reserves side enjoyed a 4-2 success at home to Hunslet Club Reserves in the quarter-final. They will play Leeds City Reserves who saw off visiting Whitkirk Wanderers Reserves 2-1.

WYL champions Carlton Athletic booked their place in the West Riding FA County Challenge Cup third round with a 5-1 success at Ripon City.

Carlton will visit either Brighouse Old Boys or Oxenhope Recreation.
